Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the 2-0 win over Ipswich Town.

David Raya 6

A clean sheet, but didn’t really make a save of note. Mix-up with Bennett should have handed Ipswich a way back in to the game, and could possibly have given a penalty away in the first half.

Elliott Bennett 7

One superb pass to free Armstrong for the second goal. A few passes astray in the first half and lucky to escape a handball shout in the second after a mix-up. Wasted a good first half chance.

Darragh Lenihan 7

His play out from the back was good for the most part, blocked two shots, and made four clearances, which helped Rovers to a second successive clean sheet. Caught out by one ball forward which presented a good opening for Keane.

Jack Rodwell 7 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

Looked at ease in his work throughout, both on the ball and when defending. Some excellent bits of close control to get himself out of a couple of tight spots. Restored to the side and helped contribute to another clean sheet. Almost scored with a neat flick from an Evans shot, and has laid down the gauntlet to Mulgrew to win his place back.

Amari’i Bell 6

Didn’t make the most of a couple of good counter-attacking opportunities in the first half, but to his credit, didn’t allow Ipswich a sniff down his flank.

Lewis Travis 7

Three successful tackles, and continues to add some drive to the Rovers midfield. Good enough on the ball to keep Rovers on the front foot in the second half.

Corry Evans 7

Efficient for much of the game in the middle of the park on his return to the side, with an excellent six interceptions made. A scuffed shot almost created a goal for Rodwell.

Harrison Reed 6

Used on the flank and sacrificed at the break for a more attacking option. Closed down well, but not able to make the most of his opportunities in the final third.

Bradley Dack 7

One excellent pass to create a chance for Bennett and had a hand in the penalty. Always on the look-out for a goal, seeing a free kick go close in the first half and two efforts in the second half go close.

Adam Armstrong 7

Ran down a few too many blind alleys in the first half where a weak shot was saved by Gerken. Came to life in the second half, winning the penalty and then squaring for Nuttall.

Danny Graham 7

Tucked home his 10th of the season from the penalty spot, moments before he was probably going to be substituted. Missed a good chance in the first half.

Subs

Joe Rothwell (for Reed, 46) 7

Made an impact off the bench which his manager would have been looking for. Unfortunate not to score with a well hit left foot strike.

Joe Nuttall (for Graham, 73) 7

Scored with his first touch, finishing off a neat Rovers move, and looks back to his hungry best.

Richie Smallwood (for Evans, 81) 6

Sent on to help see the game out late on.
