Eanam will close to traffic between Cicely Lane and Barbara Castle Way from Monday.
DISRUPTION is expected on Blackburn town centre's roads.
Eanam will be closed to traffic heading between its junction with Cicely Lane just past Morrisons to its junction with Barbara Castle Way in order for gas disconnection works to be completed.
The road will only be closed in one direction starting from Monday.
It is expected that the work will be finished by February 4.
Blackburn with Darwen Council's director of HR, Legal and Governance, David Fairclough, said: "The alternative route for the affected traffic will be via Eanam, Cicely Lane, Higher Audley Street, Higher Barn Street and Eanam.
"Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times."
