Four teenagers will be presented with certificates and a cash prize at Ewood Park this weekend.

The youngsters are being celebrated as part of the new Secret Santa Golden Awards, an initiative to help young people rise from their current position and build a brighter future for themselves.

Chief executive of Secret Santa, Phil Boulding, said: "This year’s Golden Awards have been sponsored by Blackburn Rovers and the Rovers Community Trust, and former owner of the Cardboard Box Company, Peter Street.

"We are pleased to welcome Miss Lancashire finalist, Danielle Hunt, who will present the awards, and I am delighted that the awards will help four lucky teenagers to realise their dreams and ambitions as they take their first steps into adulthood."

The presentation will take place at the pitch-side on Saturday just before Rovers' 3pm kick-off against Ipswich Town.

Each youngster will receive £250 to put towards an initiative that will improve their life chances.

The winners include Molly Gorman, who will be awarded funding to help her complete a course in Youth Work at Blackburn College and Kieron Lewis who will receive money for a moped to help improve his mobility.
