FRIENDS of a Burnley woman who was found dead in her house have set up a fundraising page to help pay for the funeral costs.

Detectives launched a murder investigation after 40-year-old Leanne Unsworth was found dead in a house in Marlborough Street in 7.15pm on Monday.

The local community are still in shock over her death and are rallying behind the family with close friends Jasmyn Ellerton and Joanne Kinch launching a ‘Gofundme’ page to help raise money for Leanne’s funeral.

Joanne said: “She had the bubbliest personality and nobody has a bad word to say about her and she did not for anyone else.

“We grew up with her and just cannot believe what has happened and we are just in shock but we cannot believe how much everyone is pulling together.

“We have got the Gofundme page and lots of local people and businesses have donated prizes for a raffle we are running.

“People have donated Pandora charms, hampers, cake vouchers and flower vouchers while we have given out football scratchcards to try to get as much money as we can.

“Along with the family we are amazed by the support we have got and we are grateful to the community for getting behind it.”

Joanne said: “Leanne deserves the best send-off that we can possibly give her and if we get over the £2000 target then the rest will go to the family as she has kids and they will need help as it is going to be so hard for them in the future.

“Leanne was lovely and would help anybody and everybody who needed it.

“We grew up with her and was much-loved in the community.”
