STAFF and residents at a Blackburn hostel were the victims of an ‘unprovoked attack’ last night.
A man suffered injuries to his face in the attack at Jay's Properties, on Bolton Road, and was later taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital at around 12.20am.
Insp Craig Kelshaw said: “We received reports that two males forcing entry to the property and assaulted the staff and residents there.
”One person suffered facial injuries and was taken to hospital. The males punched and kicked staff and residents and left the scene.
”Two males have been arrested and enquiries are on ongoing.
"This is an unprovoked attack on people going about their daily business as staff at work and then people trying to sleep."
Jay's Properties were contacted but refused to comment on the incident.
