THE call is today going out for eager entrants to take part in this year's Race for Life in Blackburn.

Promoters from Cancer Research UK have announced that the 2019 incarnation will take place on Wednesday, June 26 in Witton Park.

And anyone signing up before the end of January will save 30 per cent off entry fees for the five-kilometre slog.

For the first time men, women and children will all take part in the same race around the park.

Sarah Hunter, the event's manager, said: "Our Race for Life events are fun, colourful, emotional and uplifting.

"They help people with cancer by raising money for research, including clinical trials which give patients access to the latest treatments.
