DEMOLITION work is nearly complete for Euro Garages latest venture in East Lancashire.

Contractors have been pulling down the former St Theresa's RC Church and presbytery near the Barracks Road roundabout in Burnley for weeks.

Work is now expected to extend to the old General Havelock Inn, which was purchased by the Guide-based multi-national as part of the same development deal.

Bosses have said the project, approved by borough planners last September, will create 35 jobs on the strategic site.

The proposals will continue the firm's expansion along the M65 corridor, with service station complexes also positioned near junction 12, on the Nelson and Brierfield boundary, and Frontier Park, just off junction six at Whitebirk.
