RESIDENTS of a borough have three weeks to register their interest in buying plot of land to build their own home.
Pendle Council want more local people to construct their own house and has identified a piece of its land in Brierfield for the first such ventures.
In September the borough set up its 'Self-Build and Custom Housebuilding Register' for those interested in running their own projects.
Now Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson is encouraging people to people to sign up and receive a prospectus for the released land, part of the former Mansfield High School site.
Bids need to be submitted before January 25 to have a chance of buying one of several plots of land available for self-build schemes.
Mr Stephenson said: “ These self-build homes are designed to meet your specific needs and requirements. They allow you to specify the design, layout and finish of your home exactly how you want them."
