A HOMELESS charity which goes out every night to donate food to those living on the streets is trying to raise funds for a larger vehicle.

Currently the charity uses a car, owned by its chairman Neil Mistry, but with the demand increasing a van would be needed to transport a range of hot food and supplies, such as sleeping bags and clothes, to those who sleep on Blackburn's streets.

Mr Mistry said: "My car works but we cannot hold as much food as we'd like to.

"If we had a van then we could get a lot more in and help those on the streets even more.

"They need all the help they can get, especially with the cold nights coming in."

The charity needs around £2,000 to buy and insure a van which would be used to transport the provisions.

Mr Mistry said: "We are also on the look out for dealerships to sponsor us a van so if there's one out there that would like to get in touch then please do.

"Any help we get would mean the world to us, we go out on the streets because we care about these people.

"It doesn't matter who it is, or why they are there, they rely on the hot meals we bring to them."
