A MOPED rider involved in a crash failed a roadside cannabis test and gave police false details.
Blackburn magistrates heard Martin Gallagher subsequently gave his correct name and the blood procedure for cannabis could not be carried out and so no charge arose from that.
Gallagher, 49, of Elizabeth Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to using a moped without insurance and obstructing a police officer.
He was fined £150 with £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge and banned from driving for eight months.
Enza Geldard, prosecuting, said when police arrived the injured moped rider, Gallagher, smelled heavily of cannabis. A roadside test proved positive.
Gallagher said he had made a stupid mistake but the accident had not been his fault.
