THE memorial garden at Royal Blackburn Hospital is set to move.
It is currently based outside the children's unit but will be moving to a new site in the hospital grounds at the start of 2019.
The garden's move will allow for a new outdoor play area for the children’s ward.
The new ‘Garden of Memories’ will be rebuilt in a location that will allow quiet and reflection using the materials from the current garden.
Hospital chaplain, reverend Andrew Horsfall, said: “We know what the memorial garden means to our patients, families and staff so the service will be a mark of respect to those that have been remembered there.”
People who may currently use the garden, or have done in the past, have been invited to attend a short service at the garden on Thursday, January 3 at 1pm.
