MORE than £1,100 has been raised to support women and children escaping domestic abuse over the festive period.
Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction, part of the Calico Group, raised the cash through dress-down days, raffles and other events.
The money has been donated to the SafeNet Domestic Abuse and Support Service.
The initiative helps to provide urgent support for survivors of domestic abuse.
A cheque was delivered to SafeNet by members of Ring Stones.
After accepting the cheque, Helen Gauder of SafeNet, which is also part of the Calico Group, said: "What a wonderful, generous team Ring Stones are.
"By raising £1,150 they have given us the opportunity to put the money where it is most needed and really make a difference to people’s lives this Christmas.”
The Calico Group provides care and support to people in East Lancashire as well as developing skills and housing.
