A 47-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after being rescued from a stream.
Firefighters, including water rescue and rope rescue crews, were called to the incident near Primrose Road, Clitheroe, at 9.30am today.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We received reports of a woman who was stranded in the water three metres from the banking in a tributary of the River Ribble.
"Our specialist water rescue, rope rescue, and boat teams from Nelson, Preston and Chorley were called and using one of our inflatable boats we managed to get her onto a stretcher and safely out of the water before she was taken to hospital by paramedics."
The woman is believed to have hurt both ankles.
Emergency services were at the scene for around two and a half hours.
