AS we wait to see if snow will fall next week, there will still be a White Christmas at a Darwen pub.

That’s because bosses at the Anchor pub have come up with a ‘Disney Princess’ theme for this festive period with Elsa from film Frozen taking centre stage.

Among the other highlights include one room featuring characters from Beauty and the Beast and also Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in two of their rooms along with plush Disney teddies on their 9ft Christmas tree.

The pub stage different themes during the year and they held ‘Anchorphobia’ one at Halloween for all people with a giant spider and webs on the outside of the building.

However, landlord Lance Montgomery insists this one was the brainchild of four-year-old Willow.

He said: “We asked my daughter what we should do for Christmas and she chose Disney Princesses.

“It looks really nice and is good to do something for the little ones instead of just scaring them at Halloween.

“So far people have loved it and they have been bringing the kids down to look at it.

“Willow has been going into school to tell her teachers about what we have done.

“One of the other rooms has Beauty and the Beast with all the people including Chip and Mrs Potts and Cogsworth then in the darts room we have a mannequin dressed in Snow White and then we have all of seven dwarves there. The Elsa one looks very cold with blue lighting and props and it looks magnificent for the girls.

“There is also the plush teddies on the tree and they do well with the boys to look at.

“It is good for us to give something back to the kids and the families.”

Lance added that they are looking for the future now.

“Our Halloween event was a great success and we hope this one can be too.

“But we have already started planning for next year’s events and that includes Christmas events too.”

The pub are holding entertainment every night up to Christmas including the Alphabet Twins on December 24.
