Four HGVs have been destroyed and a further five severely vandalised after a fire was deliberately started at a skip depot.
The incident happened at around 8.30 last night at Blackburn Skips Limited on Oxford Road, Burnley.
Emergency services are currently still investigating and police are now treating the incident as one of arson and criminal damage.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We were called at 8.40 last night to a fire involving four HGV skip wagons.
"All four wagons were destroyed by the fire, and there was vandalism to a further five vehicles.
"Firefighters used two jets and a hose reel to extinguish the blaze.
"There is now a joint police and fire investigation looking at the cause of the fire."
CID remain at the scene this morning, and will be examining CCTV footage to try and establish who and what started the fire.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called to assist the fire service at around 9.10pm on Tuesday December 18.
"Four HGVs has been set on fire and a further five had had their windows smashed.
"Police are investigating the incident which is being treated as arson."
