A HERITAGE centre is looking for a trustee to help them with developing the town's nature.

This includes the development of a Sensory Garden for All Seasons, the restoration of the Woodland Walk and ultimately, the development of the medieval Cruck Barn as an event venue, the Pendle Heritage Centre Trustees have a lot to do.

Pendle Heritage Trust chairman, Sarah Cockburn-Price said: "We are developing a three-year project list and it is essential we are able to make progress. The Pendle Heritage Centre is rare, if not unique, in the heritage world, in that we receive no public grant. "However, we need to move beyond just surviving and a rather hand-to-mouth existence and actually build on our heritage offering, archiving our collection, developing our museum and mounting more exhibitions. In order to do this, we need trustees with specific skills."

Hugh Simpson, secretary of the PHC Trustees, said: “We have recently carried out a skills audit of our existing trustees and, given our ambitious plans, we see we have a need for particular areas of expertise, especially finance and IT.”

New trustees will receive a thorough induction and training. Applications close February 19 2019.
