THIS image shows six workers at the Blackburn Apollo Unit Four Cinema in 1992 dressed up as different characters.

Swapping places with the stars for Trading Places Day, Pauline Jones played a MASH medic, from the show based around medics in the mobile army surgical hospital deployed during the Korean War.

Marlene Langhorn played Morticia Addams in all black clothing, while Marion Houghton played Steve Martin from the film Father of the Bride. Steven Ireland dressed Arnold Schwarzenegger from the Terminator, and Barbara Livesey as Scarlett O'Hara from Gone with the Wind.

The decline of the cotton industry saw the building turn into a cinema in 1908, as the Exchange Picture Hall, before becoming the Majestic Cinema in 1924.

It was in 1981 when Unit Four Cinemas took control of it and in 1992 became The Apollo. It closed in 2005, but in 2015 was bought by group Reignite Church, who are now working on turning the former cinema and cotton exchange into a flourishing new building, for the people of Blackburn to enjoy again.

It is a grade II listed building and there are hopes that the group will transform it into something that can allow the community to spend time at a place once loved.
