TORY MP Nigel Evans has hit back at Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw's criticism of a new government finance settlement for the county force.
Yesterday Home Office minister Nick Hurd announced an extra £6.8 million for it from central government and permission to raise more cash from the council tax precept.
Mr Grunshaw said: "The government has once again failed to provide additional money towards front line policing and passed the buck onto council tax payers."
Ribble Valley MP Mr Evans: “I am delighted that police funding in Lancashire could increase by more than £18 million next year.
"I hope that the Mr Grunshaw recognises this and directs funds to the Ribble Valley to get more police on the beat."
