SUEDE are to play a date in Blackburn in April as part of a major UK tour.

The band, fronted by Brett Anderson, were at the forefront of the Britpop movement when their debut album won the Mercury Music Prize followed by their second album Dog Man Star.

Original guitarist Bernard Butler left the band in 1994 and the band split in 2003 before getting back together again in 2010.

Since then they have released three albums including The Blue Hour which went into the top five on its release earlier this year.
