TWO care home residents made a ‘once in a lifetime’ visit to Old Trafford last week.
Football fans Michael Whittle, also known as Mick, and Keith Biggs, who live at Blackburn’s Hollymount Care Home, received hospitality treatment at Manchester United’s home fixture against Arsenal on Wednesday, December 3.
They were invited as special guests as part of Hollymount’s Three Wishes initiative to encourage residents to achieve their dreams.
Red Devils supporters Michael, 64, and Keith, 58, both from Blackburn, met former player Stuart Pearson, who was one of their heroes from the 1970s. They were also treated to a pre-match meal and entertainment, courtesy of the club.
The care home residents said they were both overwhelmed by the experience, which they described as once in a lifetime and something they would remember for the rest of their lives.
A spokesman for Hollymount Care Home, on West Park Road, said: “Mick, Keith and the whole Hollymount team would like to pass on their profound thanks for the care and attention shown by the staff at Man Utd.
“The care home already has other plans underway to offer similar experiences to fulfil their residents’ lifelong wishes.”
