A nursery worker from Feniscowles has won a top industry award for outstanding practice and leadership.
Adam Catlow, 27, who works as a pre-school manager at Evolution Childcare in Shadsworth, Blackburn, was put forward for the Room Leader of the Year award at the National Nursery Management Awards 2018, by manager Sarah Fox.
Miss Fox said: "Adam has worked for us for two years. It’s his first position in a nursery and he’s gone from strength to strength.
"He started as a practitioner and was soon after promoted to room lead.
"I put Adam forward for the award because I felt his outstanding practice and leadership deserved some recognition."
Mr Catlow was selected from thousands of applicants to attend the awards ceremony in London on December 1.
On being presented with the award for NMT Room Leader of the Year 2018, the judges said it was Mr Catlow's impressive and evident impact on children and colleagues that had crowned him winner.
The achievement comes just months after the nursery achieved an ‘outstanding’ in its first OFSTED inspection.
Mr Catlow said: "I was overwhelmed, but ultimately incredibly proud to be named ‘NMT Room Leader of the Year 2018’.
