A CAR has crashed into a central reservation barrier on the M65.

The incident involving the single vehicle took place between junctions eight and junction nine, near Huncoat and Padiham, eastbound shortly after 6pm today.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the car has been moved onto the hard shoulder.

No one has been reported injured but motorists could still face delays driving eastbound as a lane closure remains in place.

A spokesman for Highways England said: "One vehicle hit the central reservation barrier on the M65 at 6.03pm. It was a damage only incident.

"Traffic was held at the scene but the vehicle has been cleared onto the hard shoulder.

"A lane closure is still in place and the driver has arranged for its own recovery on the hard shoulder."
