A NEW safety partnership has been made between a brewery and the local fire service.

Daniel Thwaites has signed up to a new scheme with the fire service which allows staff to speak to an officer within the fire protection department, who can offer advice.

The company, which has been running for more than 200 years, wants to offer professional guidance on fire-related matters across its 250 pubs, hotels and spas across the country.

Thwaites group safety manager, Matthew Schofield, said: "This partnership has already proved valuable."

The Primary Authority Scheme, as it is named, is one of 11 partnerships the fire service has created.
