A WOMAN's purse was snatched from underneath her arm by a thief in Nelson over the weekend.

The offender then ran off with the purse which contained £160 cash, two debit cards and the victim's driving license.

Police are now appealing for information following the incident on Leeds Road, near to the Spar shop at around 5.40pm on Sunday (December 2).
