Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary have launched their annual Christmas Shoebox Appeal.

The Edenfield sanctuary are asking for donations to ensure their animals have presents to open on Christmas Day.

Last week, President Gemma Atkinson launched the appeal asking animal lovers to dig deep over the festive period.

Sanctuary Manager Karen Weed said: "We usually ask for boxes to be filled with toys, treats and blankets which will be given out to the animals over Christmas."
