A 13-YEAR-OLD boy and two men have been charged with attempted murder after two men were attacked.

Officers were called to reports of a brawl in Rhyl Avenue, Blackburn, on Tuesday at around 10.35pm.

Several people were found with injuries, including two men, aged 43 and 24.

They were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Rafaqat Ali, 38, of Tenby Close, Blackburn, and Fazal Ilahi, 62, of the same address, and the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with attempted murder.

All three have been remanded to appear before Preston Crown Court tomorrow.

Two police vans were parked up on the road and officers had cordoned off the area on Tuesday.

Detective chief inspector Pauline Stables had pledged to increase patrols in the area following the incident.

She said: "We understand that this will cause some concern for people living in the area.

"I’d like to reassure you that while this is shocking and very serious, we are treating it as an isolated incident.

"We do not believe there is any threat to the wider public and we have increased patrols in the area."

A 36-year-old man from Blackburn was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries and is now in police custody.

The two injured men remain in hospital with serious injuries.
