TWO brothers have turned their ‘crazy’ dream of creating a UK-wide wrestling tour into reality.

Wrestling and Rovers fans Simon, 30, and Jonathon Kay, 35, have described next month’s event as the ‘ultimate wresting experience’.

More than 2,500 tickets have been sold for the four-day event, Fight Forever, as the two video producers launch their debut tour, which includes visits to Bristol, Birmingham, London and Liverpool.

Around 25 wrestlers will fight across the four December dates, including international wrestling icon The Godfather.

WWE legend Cody Rhodes, who pulled out of fighting in the event two weeks ago after suffering a knee injury, will fly in from the USA to the UK to meet the fans on each night of the tour.

Simon, of Darwen, and Jonathon, of Chorley, said the tour started out as nothing more than a crazy idea they discussed while sitting on their parents’ sofa in Prince Lee Meadows, Darwen, eight months ago.

Former Blackburn College student Jonathon, who runs video production company North Star Digital, said: “We talked about starting a new venture.

“We debated what we would like to do and suggested a wrestling promotion.

"Wrestling is our passion and we were determined to make this work.”

Two months later the pair visited Wrestlemania 2018, held in New Orleans, to convince top stars from WWE to take part.

Blackburn’s King George’s Hall was considered as a venue for the country-wide tour, but the brothers were unable to book it for the dates they wanted during December’s busy pantomime season.

Simon, who worked as an English teacher in China for nine years, said: “With Cody and a host of other stars signed up, we’ve worked tirelessly to source venues, market events, and sell tickets. “At best, we’ll break even this time around, but this December Fight Forever will be a dream come true, and you can’t put a price on that.”

Tickets for the events, from December 6 to December 9, are priced at £15 and still available to buy via www.fightforeverwrestling.com.
