An air support unit equipped with a drone attended a car fire on Monday night.
Firefighters were called to the incident on Clitheroe Road, Sabden, after receiving reports from a passer-by who was driving home.
A fire service spokesman said: "At 11.20pm on Monday, we were called, along with the air support unit, to attended a vehicle fire.
"The car on fire is thought to have been involved in a police incident two days before and a drone was used to look for a person who may have fled the scene.
"The car was 100% destroyed by fire, which is thought to have started in the engine compartment."
A police spokesperson said: "We were called to attend a vehicle on fire in a ditch off Clitheroe Road.
"The car involved was a red Citroen and the incident in now under investigation."
