FORMER Coronation Street star and Our Girl actress Michelle Keegan has been back in East Lancashire filming for new Sky One comedy series, Brassic.

The 31-year-old was first spotted in Bacup back in September but is back this week to film more shots for the show, which will air in the new year.

The Stockport-born actress has caused quite the stir during her visits to the town, with residents relishing the chance to meet her and watch her at work.

Brassic follows the story of Lancashire man Vinnie, who is played by Chorley actor Joe Gilgun. Vinnie suffers from bipolar disorder and is inseparable from his best friend Dylan, who is played by Damien Molony.

Keegan's character Erin, who is Dylan's girlfriend, threatens to end the friendship between the pair when she plans to leave town and start a new life for herself and her son Tyler.

Speaking about the show, Gilgun, who co-wrote the series, said: “Bipolar is a big part of my life. We want to show you can have mental health issues and in some cases live an exciting life, full of adventure.”

Scenes from the show have also been shot in Manchester.
