A MAN who thought he was in an internet conversation with an 11-year-old girl sent her a picture of his penis.

But the response he got was a visit from the police because the "girl" was an officer.

Thomas Anthony Murray, 25, of Jubilee Road, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to attempting to cause a child to look at an image of sexual activity and possession of indecent images of a child.

He was committed on bail to Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced on January 7.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Murray had entered into conversation with an 11-year-old girl called Hannah who he met on a chat site called "Just Tease".

"Hannah was in fact a police officer," said Miss Allen.

"They engaged in conversation and there was an element of grooming before he asked if she wanted to 'see it'."

Shaun Finnigan, defending, said his client had no previous conviction but accepted the matter would go to the crown court for sentence.
