HUNDREDS of pounds worth of damage has been done to a popular coffee shop after a spate of burglaries, all of which are believed to be targeted.

The Cabin which sits at the base of Pendle Hill in Barley, and is a firm favourite with walkers, has been broken into three times in the last month.

Each time, the perpetrator has attempted to steal cash by forcing entry into the premise, resulting in extensive damage to shutters and windows.

Manager of The Cabin, Toni Halliday said: "Whoever broke in was after money as they didn't take anything else. They got away with cash the second time but in doing so destroyed the alarm system and broke the shutters and windows, which are still boarded up.

"It's going to cost hundreds to get it fixed."

Police are investigating the incidents, which happened on October 21, October 31, and November 18, and are asking anyone with any information to contact them on 101, quoting log number EG1810973.
