A ROAD has closed after a mains burst.
It has been reported that water leaking out onto Shear Brow, Blackburn, after a mains burst on the road.
United Utilities will be on scene later today to begin repairing this.
Blackburn with Darwen Council announced the road closure on Facebook this morning.
A spokesman said: "We have received notification from United Utilities that there has been a mains burst on Shear Brow near to 115.
"The water is leaking out onto the road but is a light flow.
"United Utilities will be attending today to begin repairing this, however with previous leaks/bursts in this area, it will require a road closure.
"A number of “water on wheels” tankers will be deployed to pump water into the network to maintain supplies whilst the main is shut down to carry out the repair."
