A MAJOR town centre road is set to be reopened today following the repair of a manhole feared to be collapsing.
Great Moor Street, between Bradshawgate and Bolton Interchange, was closed last Friday, diverting services leaving the station via Newport Street and Trinity Street.
BT began the repair of the Openreach cover yesterday morning and had originally hoped to finish by late afternoon.

An Openreach spokesman said: “Our manhole was damaged during local work to resurface the road. This was reported to us and we arranged to get it repaired as quickly as possible.”
Roadworks were in place to improve the surface on Great Moor Street for four months ahead of the transport interchange opening in September, 2017, causing significant disruption.
A Bolton Council spokesman "The resurfacing work was completed more than 12 months ago by a contractor. The area around the manhole cover only started to deteriorate recently."
