A SALON owner told of her anger after being broken into for the fourth time in a year.

Beth Hartland’s shop, Hartlands House Of Beauty and Grooming, was targeted at around 4am on Friday in the latest incident.

An offender smashed through a window of the salon in Town Hall Street, Blackburn, before stealing money from the till.

The salon has been targeted three previous times in November last year, in August and on Remembrance Sunday.

Ms Hartland said that thousands of pounds worth of stock has been taken during the break-ins, including spray tan kits, polishes and nail varnishes.

While money has also been taken from the till.

Ms Hartland, from Blackburn, who opened the salon three years ago, said: “This is the fourth time in the last year and I’m just fed up with it.

“I went to the shop on Friday and found that a glass panel had gone and a till had been ripped up with a quantity of money stolen.

“We’ve upped the security every time there’s been a break-in but they keep doing it.

“Thousands of pounds worth of stock and money has been stolen and I’ve had to pay for the damage.”

But the former Blackburn College student said she has had internal shutters fitted in the shop in an attempt to stop the thieves.

She said that CCTV has also been installed.

Ms Hartland, 26, said: “I’ve contacted the police about what has happened.

“The CCTV clearly shows a man trying to break in so I’m confident the police will catch who has done this.

“At the end of the day, I’m just the owner of a local business trying to get by and things like this set me back.

“I dread going to the shop each morning in case there’s been another break-in.

“I just want to raise awareness to other businesses who may also be targeted.

“But hopefully now with the shutters and CCTV, we’ll be safe and we’ve had so much support from customers and other people.

“I want to thank people for all their support.”

A police spokesman said: “An unnamed offender gained entry to the beauty salon and smashed through the glass in the front window.

“They gained entry and searched the area before entering the till and stealing a couple of hundred pounds.

“The offender then made off.”
