WARNINGS have been issued after firefighters attended a spate of chimney fires over the weekend.
Fire and rescue teams from across Lancashire attended a number of the fires and issued the public with information about how to prevent fires from breaking out.
On Friday night crews from Barnoldswick, Earby and Nelson attended to a fire in the chimney of a wood-burning stove that had spread to the roof of a house. They were quickly able to put out the fire and there were no casualties.
Crews also attended chimney fires in Barley and Pilling. For details on how to stay safe, visit www.lancsfireresuce.org.uk
