ROVERS Ladies manager Gemma Donnelly wants more of the same from her players, as they aim to continue a 100 per cent winning record when they travel to face Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies in the Lancashire FA Challenge Cup quarter-final tomorrow.

Newly-formed Fleetwood currently play in the North West Women’s Regional Premier League – the fifth tier of women’s football - meaning Rovers, who are two levels above, will be favourites.

“We approach the game the same as every other," Donnelly said. "We turn up and give the best account of ourselves that we can, irrespective of the opposition.

“It’s important not to be complacent and to maintain our standards."

Rovers are current cup holders and beat Morecambe Ladies 14-0 in the last round, taking their tally to 73 goals in their opening 13 games of the season, conceding just eight.

“Historically we’ve done well in this competition and we want to carry that on," Donnelly added.

"It’s a game that will probably pose us with different problems to what we might usually face so we need to ensure we are adaptable and prepared for the unknown.

"Our targets are to keep a clean sheet and to be clinical in front of goal. We strive this from the players week in week out, whoever the opposition is.

“In order to get them up for the game we’ll have our own targets and that should be enough for them to be professional, enjoy the game and to demonstrate why we are top of the league.

Rovers welcome back Natasha Flint to the squad after she missed the 7-0 victory at Derby.

Donnelly added: “Beth (Donoghue) got a few minutes last week and I thought Eve (Kennerley) was excellent, playing out of position. She got on the scoresheet and worked relentlessly hard up front.

“We’re taking a full strength squad because it’s a competition that we take seriously. We don’t want to underestimate our opponents.

“I’ll be looking at everyone getting a good run out and maintaining our momentum. I’m keen to give everyone an opportunity, especially those players who are deserving of a place in the starting 11.

Rovers' Development side are also in action tomorrow in the last eight of the Reserve League Cup.

Rovers’ game at Poolfoot Farm kicks off at 2pm, with free admission. The Development team face West Brom at Accrington and Rossendale College.
