POLICE officers searched a house in Darwen as part of an investigation to find a man that pulled a handgun out on a teenage shop worker in Blackburn.

Officers were seen going into a house in Brandwood Street at around 7.30pm on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said officers attended and searched the house, however the man remains missing.

The man had visited Hanna’s Convenience Store in Infirmary Street on Sunday and asked a 15-year-old shop worker for cigarettes.

The man then pulled out a dark silver handgun from his waistband and demanded cash.

The man left suddenly when another person in the shop made themselves known.

The offender is thought to be around 30 years old.

Detective constable Andy Bleasdale said: "Thankfully this man didn't manage to get away with anything but that said, the boy who was threatened by the firearm has understandably been left quite shaken up.

"If you recognise the man in the images or you have any information that could assist us with our investigation please get in touch."
