THERE are a thousand careers in the NHS and a special event in Poole this month will provide an insight into some of them, for those thinking of joining the service.
For the first time, on November 27, staff from all the different NHS Trusts in Dorset will take part in a careers open evening, talking about their work and the training required for it.
Representatives from Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals, Dorset County Hospital, Dorset HealthCare, Poole Hospital and the South Western Ambulance Service will be at the event to answer questions and give advice on how to follow in their footsteps.
Roles available include those in physical and mental health services, both in hospitals and community-based settings, across Dorset as well as nurses, psychologists, midwives and paramedics and support service jobs in departments such as IT and human resources.
The careers event takes place at Dorset HealthCare’s Headquarters in Sentinel House, 4-6 Nuffield Road, Nuffield Industrial Estate in Poole, from 6-8pm on Tuesday November 27. For more information about the event, email clover.lake@nhs.net.
