A MILITARY guest visited a school to raise awareness about the end of the First World War.
Around 100 children at Great Harwood's St John's Church of England Primary School met with Accrington Pals member Scott Knowles.
Mr Knowles, who now lives in Barrowford, went to the school dressed as a 'Tommy' soldier from the First World War and brought in a collection of military memorabilia, including a rifle, hats and a periscope.
His visit on Friday, November 2, came as part of a series of Remembrance events held by the St John's Street school to mark the centenary of the Armistice.
To mark 100 years since the war ended pupils also researched about the Accrington Pals and learnt about the men who lost their lives in Great Harwood.
The school will host further events to mark the centenary year this week including a choir service at the school on Wednesday from 2.40pm.
