A QUANTITY of what is thought to be cocaine has been seized by police from inside a toy parrot at a house in Partington.

Police were called by a member of the public who heard glass smashing and saw three men banging on the door a house shortly after 11pm on Saturday.

Witnesses reported that a youth was waving what was believed to be a handgun in the air before others entered the property in Cumberland Road.

Police who attended the address and recovered a revolver and iPhone from a plant pot in the front garden before finding a rucksack containing an air pistol and pistol bag.

They also seized two air rifles, a hunting knife, a large electric probe as well as a small quantity of suspected cocaine inside the parrot.

The three juvenile males ­— who were arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms ­— have been released under investigation pending further inquiries.

Detective Inspector Simon Akker, of GMP’s Trafford division, said: “Three juvenile males were arrested for firearms offences and we are carrying out a thorough examination of the items recovered.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen these youths acting suspiciously in the Cumberland Road area on Saturday evening to come forward with information.
