THIS shot of Accrington town centre was taken in May 2001 and shows a rather old fashioned looking Greggs, next to Nationwide and Broadway Cards and News.
The shot of Broadway also captures Yorkshire Ban in the background.
This second picture, taken in 1983, shows the main free car park in the town situated off Broadway.
The car park disappeared when the Arndale Centre was built on the land in 1988.
On the left of the picture are the backs of Marks and Spencer and Woolworth’s and in the back right of the ‘snail shaped’ public toilets on Union Street.
