A SECONDARY school partially-closed two weeks ago after structural faults were found in two buildings is to return to full operation.

All pupils will return to class at Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School, Oswaldtwistle on Monday.

Part of the school site was shut after half-term for urgent repairs following the discovery of structural faults in two four-storey blocks housing the dining area and classrooms.

Since then several year groups have been taught in a self-contained area of Hameldon Community College in Burnley.

From Monday all pupils will be able to return to the Haworth Road school after alternative accommodation was brought onto the site and essential work was completed.

Work is still continuing on specific areas of the school, causing some room changes, but the curriculum and pupil subject timetables will remain the same.

Lunches will be provided, with a reduced service in the first few days, but all pupils will receive a meal. Parents can also provide a packed lunch if they prefer.

Headteacher Andrew Williams said: "I would like to thank parents and carers for their patience and support. I would also like to thank pupils and staff who coped magnificently, as well as staff and pupils at Hameldon Community College who have been so welcoming."
