A manhole collapsed on Haslingden Road near Guide this morning
Traffic has been diverted this afternoon after a manhole collapsed in the middle of a busy road.
The right turn lane from Haslingden Road into Blackamoor Road near Guide has been shut off.
A spokesperson from Blackburn with Darwen borough council said: "We received a call at 9.30 this morning to say a manhole had collapsed on Haslingden Road.
"Council workers were sent out to make the road safe, and as a precaution, closed the right turn lane.
"Work will be undertaken to get the lane re-opened as soon as possible."
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council are advising motorists to continue straight ahead up to the J5 roundabout and come back down to turn left onto Blackamoor Road.
