A FORMER bridge club in Blackburn is to be turned into a car dealership.
Planning bosses said the proposed development will not result in any significant alterations to the external appearance of the building at Haydock House in Pleckgate Road, which became the base for Blackburn Bridge Club in 1998.
The site had been used as a car sales showroom during the 1990s and as such is not considered to have any significant impact on the visual amenity or character of the area.
Now applicant Les Hindle of NMH Vehicle Contracts has had a proposal to change use of the club back into a car showroom approved.
Council planning officer Harriet McCartney said: "The proposed change of use will not result in any detrimental impact on the residential amenity or visual amenity of the surrounding area, nor are there any concerns relating to highway safety.
"As such it is recommended accordingly that planning consent be granted."
