A GROUP of volunteers who help to keep their town looking radiant all year round have added several more awards to their already blossoming collection.
Whalley in Bloom triumphantly walked away with Gold in the Small Town category at the national Britain in Bloom awards last month.
But on Friday, at the Royal Horticultural Society Northwest in Bloom Regional Finals in Southport, the community group were presented with FOUR more accolades including Best Small Town.
Volunteer, Rachel Kay, said: "We're absolutely bowled over to have won the Best Small Town Trophy for the second year in a row.
"We were awarded two special discretionary awards too - the 2018 Award for Commercial Effort, and a School Award for Whalley C of E Primary; so well done to all the school children."
Whalley in Bloom were also awarded gold in the North West Small Town category, mirroring their gold win at the nationals in October.
Miss Kay added: "These awards have been won by everyone in the village - we couldn't have done it without our amazing volunteers and supporters. Thank you everyone, so much."
Work will continue in Whalley throughout the winter and already winter hanging baskets have been put up with planting schemes being drawn up for 2019.
