FIRED Apprentice star Rick Monk wants Blackburn’s Camilla Ainsworth to continue to fly the flag for Lancashire after his exit from the hit TV show.

In a twist on last week's show, Lord Alan Sugar called all of the candidates from the losing team on the shoe design task back into the boardroom – rather than the usual shortlist of three.

And Lord Sugar told Rick that his instinct told him he was ‘not for the process’ and the 33-year-old became the fifth person to be fired from the show.

Now Rick is backing Camilla to carry on the battle to be the next Apprentice.

He said: “She’s young but she has a great business head and very calm and collected.

“She is not your typical 22-year-old. She wants to go places.

"I feel the business she has started - flavoured nut milk - which is just getting off the ground is relevant in this day and age and something that people will really buy into."

Rick is looking forward to a well-earned break being shocked to have left the show.

He said: “One silver lining was that I made a little bit of history in that Lord Sugar decided to mix it up and not just fire someone from the three brought into the boardroom.

“I was not expecting it and even the other people in the team were not thinking it would happen.”

He added: “I joined the process wanting to win and get to the final and you don’t realise you are tested every minute and it is dog-eat-dog.

“I have had lots of messages of support on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter saying I should have gone further.

“I went in wanting to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing and the fact that people did not bring me into the boardroom after the tasks shows that.”

Rick has now set his sights on a break after the show and his new venture.

He said: “I have no regrets. I am spending some time with my family but I want to work on my business plan for a chain of children’s centres.”

Camilla is back on the show tonight on BBC One at 9pm as the candidates are set the ultimate advertising task.
