Darwen Aldridge Community Academy were presented with their Enterprise Britain Award at the House of Commons.

DACA assistant principal, Michelle Billington and director of enterprise and entrepreneurship for Aldridge Education, Beki Martin both received the award on October 29.

They were awarded for encouraging entrepreneurship in young people. It was presented by Deputy Director for Business Growth at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Angie Cannizzaro and CBE, President of Investment in Young People, Neville Reyner.

The award celebrates enterprise skills in young people. DACA received this recognition in particular due to the innovative Team Academy curriculum which all students follow in Year 7 and 8.
