BLACKBURN Cathedral will lead the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First Word War on Sunday.
Remembrance Day events at Lancashire's leading Anglican Church begin at 6am that morning with a lone piper playing 'Battle’s O’er'.
At 9.30am the Civic Service of Remembrance will begin with a sermon preached by the Bishop of Blackburn the Rt Rev Julian Henderson.
The Cathedral bells will ring from 12.30pm to 1.30pm to mark the signing of the Armistice ending the 1914/1918 conflict.
At 6.40pm a beacon will be lit before the bells ring again with those of other places of worship nationwide from 7.05pm until 8pm.
Many other events marking the centenary will take place across East Lancashire and below is summary of the main civic commemorations.

BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN
Blackburn
10.25am. Following the civic service at Blackburn Cathedral a parade will form on King William Street, moving at to Corporation Park Gardens of Remembrance for a wreath-laying service at 11am.
7pm. Beacons will be lit.
Darwen
6am: Piper Gordon Smith plays Battles Over and other laments at Darwen Heritage Centre.
10.45am: Service and Wreath laying at Bold Venture Park, Darwen at the War Memorial, followed by a service in St Peter’s Church, Darwen at noon.
6.30pm: Commemoration event at Darwen Town Hall, including lighting of the Beacon of Light at 7pm.
HYNDBURN
Accrington.
6am. In the new Town Square, dedicated to the memory of the Accrington Pals the day before, a lone piper from Accrington Pipe Band will play 'Battle’s Over'
10:45am Oak Hill Park Cenotaph. Service of Remembrance including two minute silence at 11am.
11:30 am. Procession leaves en-route to the Town Square via Accrington Pals memorial on Church Street where two benches will be dedicated to its fallen soldiers.
12:15pm. Civic Reception in Town Hall Ballroom
2pm. Town Hall Ballroom. Accrington Pals play led by Julie Hesmondhalgh.
6:55pm. Town Square: The Last Post will be played by a lone bugler Town Square

10.30 a.m. Remembrance Parade departs up Henry Street via Buckingham Grove and Riding Barn Street to Gatty Park for service and wreath laying at the War Memorial at 11am.
Clayton-Le-Moors
9.30am. Procession from Arthur Wilson Centre in Pickup Street via Whalley Road, Sparth Road and Grange Street to service at All Saints Church at 10am followed by parade to the War Memorial in Mercer Park for wreath-laying at 11am.
Great Harwood
10.35 a.m. Parade from Town Gate to the War Memorial via Church Street and Church Lane for wreath laying at the War Memorial at 10.55am and silence at 11.00 a.m.
Huncoat
2.10pm. Procession from the corner of Burnley Lane and Lower Gate Road to the War Memorial for Wreath Laying Ceremony at 2.30pm.
Oswaldtwistle
2.15pm. Parade from Thwaites Street along Union Road to the War Memorial on Rhyddings Street for service and laying of wreaths at the War Memorial at 2.30pm.
Rishton
9.45am. Service at St Peter and St Pauls Church.
10.30am. Parade from Church onto Blackburn Road and to the War Memorial for wreath laying ceremony.
BURNLEY:
Burnley:
10.35am. Parade through Burnley town centre to the Peace Garden.
11am. The Peace Garden, Croft Street. Service of Remembrance led by the Bishop of Burnley, the Rt Rev Philip North followed by wreath-laying followed by parade past the main entrance of the police station where the Commanding Officer of the 4th Battalion of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment will take 'The Salute' then to Towneley Park where the Mayor of Burnley Cllr Charles Briggs will lay a wreath on the town’s Cenotaph.
Padiham:
9.30am. Civic Service of Remembrance at St Leonard's Church on Burnley Road followed by parade to The Cenotaph at the junction of Blackburn Road and Whalley Road where Padiham town Mayor Cllr Andy Tatchell will lead the wreath-laying at 11am.
RIBBLE VALLEY
Clitheroe:
9.10am. Procession, led by the town crier and Clitheroe town band, from the town hall to the Church of St Mary Magdalene.
9.30am. Church of St Mary Magdalene. Remembrance Service followed by a second procession to the Cenotaph 10.45am. Remembrance Service with two minutes’ silence at 11am.
10am. Trinity Methodist Church including the two minutes’ silence.
7pm. Ribble Valley Mayor Stuart Carefoot will light a beacon at Clitheroe Castle in front of the giant poppy projected on its walls after which the town's church bells will ring.
Whalley
Royal British Legion Remembrance Sunday parade and service leaving Billington Gardens at 2.30pm and proceeding to Billington War Memorial.
Longridge
10am. Parade from Civic Hall, Calder Avenue to the Memorial Garden on Berry Lane for readings and two minutes silence followed by a short service and re-dedication of Kestor Lane Memorial Field.
11.45am. Remembrance service at St Paul's Church followed by light refreshments at the Civic Hall.
PENDLE
Barnoldswick
2.50pm. Town Square Cry for Peace followed by Service of Remembrance at 3.00 p.m. followed by procession to the Cenotaph for the wreath laying. Claire Teall

8.50am Parade begins on Broadway with a service at St Thomas Church at 9.15am followed by wreath laying at the memorial gardens.
Crawshawbooth – 10am. Service at Rakefoot Methodist Church, followed by remembrance at the war memorial at 11am.
Whitworth
6.55pm. Lone bugler plays the Last Post at Lobden Golf Club.
10.20am. Parade assembles at corner of Tong Lane and Market Street before service at The Cenotaph.
7pm. Beacons lit.
7.05pm. Bells at St Bartholomew’s Church will ring out for peace
