A JUNIOR version of the Christmas Post is set to return in Darwen.
And customers will once again have Scout and Guide troops to thank for their local seasons greetings getting there on time.
St Joseph’s Scouts, in Bolton Road, and the Cellar Dweller Ranger Guides are teaming up again for the town’s answer to the Royal Mail, from next Monday.
Stamps will cost 25p per card and are sponsored by Belgrave Carpets, also on Bolton Road, which will also house one of three special post boxes for the service.
Rushtons, the bacon and cooked meats stall on Darwen Market, and Stotts Craft Bakery, on Blackburn Road, will also have post boxes and stamps to hand.
Deliveries will be made to addresses across Darwen, Lower Darwen and Hoddlesden, according to the organisers, with a deadline set for December 3.
The Christmas Post in Darwen has now been running successfully for more than 30 years.
