A MOTHER was left unconscious at the wheel of her car after a hit-and-run.

Charley Almond said she could only remember a ‘white blur’ after a car pulled out on her while driving along Burnley Road, Padiham, on Monday.

The 27-year-old, from Padiham, said the car, which eyewitnesses told her looked like it was white, crashed into her while she was driving to the nearby Tesco in the town at around 9.40am.

The cleaner said she remembers waking up in her car with a man standing by her door trying to help.

She said: “The man who saw the crash kept talking to me until the police and paramedics came.

“I had banged my head near the window and the whole right side of my body was sore.

“It happened near The Bridge pub. The car pulled out of the junction and hit me face on.”

The mum-of-two said her car, which was worth around £800, had suffered serious damage and was beyond repair.

She said: “I’m currently off work to recover from the crash, but I don’t know how I’m going to get to work next week now.

“My kids go to school nearby so that’s not too bad.

“I can’t believe the other driver just left and drove off. My injuries could have been a lot worse, I feel really sore.

“What if my children had been in the car?

“I hope the owner of the other car has the decency to get in touch.

“I’d like to thank the guy who came to my aid. He sadly didn’t get the chance to take a picture of the car’s registration plate.

“He told me he was really worried about the fluid coming out of the car, he wanted to get me out as soon as possible but the paramedics told him not to move me.”
